Sequoia Union High School District annually serves nearly 10,000 9th to 12th-grade students through it’s four distinguished comprehensive high schools, STEAM-focused school, dependent charter school, continuation high school, Middle College, and other specialized programs and services.

As a contract designer, I supported a range of environmental and visual communication projects, including construction maps, architectural layouts, wayfinding signage, and various design collateral. My role involved translating technical information into clear, visually intuitive graphics that helped teams navigate spaces, understand plans, and communicate project details effectively.

Convocation Event Branding

Worked alongside SUHSD’s Public Information Officer to create the event branding for Convocation Training 2026. The client wanted to elevate the previous year’s design while maintaining its essence. An invitational flyer was needed to inform staff and faculty of the event details, and I utilized staff photography to showcase individuals across different school sites.

The phrase “It Takes All of Us, We Are the Difference” was this year’s theme, so we incorporated it into the logo design. I used the signature sequoia tree from SUHSD’s primary logo to create a cohesive, circular design that reflects collegiate aesthetics.

Lastly, a T-shirt design was needed to be distributed to all staff and faculty. We used the original logo and added the establishment year to the front to further promote a scholarly feel. The back of the shirt features the abbreviated district name along with the school year in a playful yet legible typeface.

Remastered Logo Suite

Refined and modernized the original logo to better align with updated brand standards. The redesign involved removing one school site name, while enhancing the overall resolution for sharper, high-quality use across digital and print applications. The color palette was updated to reflect the newly approved brand color, ensuring consistency across all materials. Additionally, decorative accents from the original mark were simplified to create a more contemporary, streamlined look while preserving the logo’s core identity.

Site Plan Redesign

The original site plan shown on the right was created to illustrate HVAC replacements across multiple campus buildings, but its complexity made it difficult for teachers and staff to understand which rooms would be affected and when. To improve clarity, I redesigned the layout by simplifying the building structures while maintaining accurate proportions and spatial relationships. I then collaborated with the construction and facilities teams to implement a clear color-coding system that identifies the areas scheduled for work, resulting in a more intuitive and informative diagram for all stakeholders.

District Wide Upgrades

With these new templates in place, the construction and facilities department can easily communicate upcoming changes or remodels by highlighting specific rooms according to a clear, customizable key. This system enables staff to stay well-informed about site-wide repairs and planned updates. The templates have already been used successfully across multiple projects, including the example shown to the right, which outlines scheduled work at Sequoia High School during the summer of 2026.

Wayfinder Signage

After reviewing the revised site maps, the principal of Woodside High School requested wayfinding signage to assist parents and families in navigating the campus during graduation. I collaborated closely with her to develop clear, intuitive maps that helped viewers understand their location and move through the campus with ease. Two versions were created to provide the appropriate orientation based on where each sign would be installed, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly navigation experience.

Convocation Leadership Team Maps

I developed a comprehensive set of leadership-team maps designed to clearly identify all staff members participating in a large organizational event. Each map visually positioned staff within their respective schools and highlighted the full hierarchy of leadership, from administrators to support roles. This structured representation allowed stakeholders to quickly understand reporting lines, team organization, and points of contact across all participating schools.
